OJSC "VNIIMT" has developed a high temperature (heatproof) fan to circulate heat transfer agent with the temperature of 950 C in the furnace for carburizing.
OJSC "VNIIMT" has developed, manufactured and supplied to LLC "MetaKub"
a high temperature (heat proof) circulation fan for carburizing furnace treating special items in gaseous carburizer. High temperature (heat proof) fan is designed to provide circulation of gas carburizer in the workspace of a furnace unit. Thus uniform distribution and averaging of gas medium in the workspace are achieved, which enhances
the quality of processed items.
The main specifications of high-temperature (heat proof) circulating fan are the following:
- Total pressure under normal conditions up to 222 Pa;
- Capacity 2400 ñubic meters per hour;
- Maximum temperature of transmitted medium up to 950 C;
- Motor power 3 kWt.
To prevent its shaft and bearings from overheating, the fan is equipped with an innovative high-performance cooling system with the forced start. This cooling system allows to keep the temperature of the fan bearings below 60-70 C at temperature in the furnace unit equaling 950 C.
This maintains reliable operation of the fan drive. The absence of a water cooling system for the bearing assembly facilitates installing a high-temperature fan in a furnace unit. It also reduces the cost of its subsequent operation and prevents the risks associated with the possibility of clogging the channels of the cooling system of the bearing assembly, and as a consequence, its failure.
Circulation furnace fan consists of a bearing flange with à heat insulating plug. On the bearing flange of the fan there are the following construction elements: a fan frame, a bearing assembly, a V-belt drive tension system, an auxiliary fan of the air cooling system, protective covers, a sample input nozzle, a carburizer input nozzle, a smoke exit nozzle and an air inlet nozzle for cooling the furnace unit.
The design of the fan has a special integral fan shaft, which enables a quick change of a worn-out wheel (heat proof impeller) without dismantling of the bearing assembly. This design prevents the impeller wheel hub from sticking to the fan shaft. For transportation to the customer a special platform was made.
